hi this is denise from tennis express i'm here today to talk to you about choosing a beginner racquet choosing the right racket can be a roadblock for a lot of adult beginners i always tell people to connect with a pro take some lessons but obviously you'll have to show up with some sort of racket a lot
of pros will give advice based on their own sponsorship or brand experience so be aware of recommendations from a pro that hasn't seen you play yet by all means follow the advice of a pro
that you've developed a working relationship with but that should come after a few months of lessons in the meantime here's five rackets that are great for beginners the babolat pure drive light is a great racket for beginners babolat developed this racket with data from pure drive play which is used by rafa nadal so you can't go wrong they've actually adjusted the sweet spot on this racket to compensate for off-center hits it's also got a cortex system which is the technology that can filter out unnecessary vibrations to
make your arm feel better the next record i want to show you is the Wilson ultra 108 it has a larger sweet spot that's perfect for beginners with a forgiving string bed it's an all-court racket which means whether your style of play is at the baseline or at the net or if you're not sure yet this is a great racket to pick
it has an extended length that will give you some extra reach and extra power which is great for beginners the next racket is our head graphene XD instinct s this frame is maneuverable which makes it
great for someone learning the mechanics of tennis you're going to be able to move this racket and your body however you want on court it's lightweight frame makes for an easy swing and the even balance of this racket is great for beginners that really want to focus on learning proper technique the next racquet up is the Prince texturing premier 105 this has a great-size sweet spot with 105 square inches of headspace it's got a forgiving string bed in an added quarter inch of length which will make you feel more
successful with every swing because you're going to get to more balls this racquet also
offers lots of control our final racket is another babolat the pure aerotine this racquet is easy to swing but can grow with you when you're ready to apply spin and power this racquet is going to be perfect for that
it has good stability because of a nice balance weight and it has a forgiving sweet spot be sure to order the correct grip size when you get your new racket although keep in mind that adding an overgrip increases the size by one-sixteenth of an inch if you want to appear really knowledgeable when ordering your new racket read up on string choice and tension before placing an order i highly recommend using a demo program to test out the racket you're considering you can take your racket out on a date for as long as a week before making a long-term commitment click the demo now button to get started no matter which racket you choose you're going to love playing tennis having the right racket from the start can help
